San Marcos City Council
Public Safety, the Top Priority
To make sure that all citizens of San Marcos are safe, I have:
Made sure strict injunctions were imposed on gang members;
Worked to pass new rules that made the possession and sale of dangerous synthetic drugs like Spice & Bath Salts illegal in San Marcos;
Ensured our local firefighters are well trained and provided the equipment needed to be prepared for daily 911 calls as well as large scale disasters.
I will continue these efforts, because everyone should have a sense of security in our City.
Working to enhance our Quality of Life
An enduring advocate for open, honest, and respectful government, I've always had an open door policy and feel strongly that I need to be easily accessible to all citizens and business owners. I believe government should be responsible to the people which is why I have worked to keep our quality of life a TOP priority while expanding parks, recreational opportunities, and preserving other quality services even during the great recession. Since joining the council, the city has built or revitalized more than 6 parks, not including a new park currently under construction. I have voted to improve critical infrastructure for our growing city as well as preserving our history by adding Heritage Park and honoring our Veterans with the Purple Heart Trail.
Fiscally Responsible & Business Friendly
I'm fiscally responsible and have an entrepreneurial mindset. I have worked to ensure the budget is balanced and make financial decisions with long term stability in mind. As a business owner, I understand how tough it is for small businesses today. I will continue to work to bring jobs to San Marcos by making government more efficient and customer service oriented. I will remain committed to streamlining city processes, making it easier for new businesses to open and existing businesses to grow and prosper.
